Operated by Landmark since 1995. The Kendall Square Cinema is located in Cambridge between Historic Kendall Square and Central Square near the intersection of Binney Street and Cardinal Medeiros Avenue, next to the MIT campus. Since opening its doors in September 1995, it has become one of Landmark Theatres' most successful venues. The Kendall Square Cinema has been host to many special events, including local premieres, benefit screenings and film festivals. Additionally, the theatre complex has won numerous awards, making it one of Boston's cultural epicenters.
In 2017, Kendall Square Cinema underwent extensive remodeling. The lobby has been renovated to provide an upscale and inviting atmosphere. All auditoriums have been remodeled with new seating and interior finishes. Additionally, the restrooms have been updated with new finishes and fixtures. The newly added Kendall Bar now serves beer and wine at the bar and concession stand.
PARKING: $3.00 validated four-hour parking is available in the Kendall Square Parking Garage. (NOTE: Parking Garage no longer accepts cash).
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: Take the Red Line towards the Kendall/MIT stop. Upon exiting the stop you will see the Marriot Hotel. Go through the lobby of the Marriot Hotel to Broadway. With the Marriot behind you facing Broadway St., make a left and walk down Broadway until you pass over the train tracks. After crossing the train tracks stay on your right until you see Kendall Square on your right. Walk all the way across the Kendall Square courtyard, passing Friendly Toast and Flat Top Johnny’s through an arch at which time you will be on Binney St. At that time you will be facing the Kendall Square Garage. We are to the left of the garage. (For now, please walk through the garage lobby and follow the yellow painted line to get to the front of the theatre while construction is taking place.)
